Duke Marcus, local owner of the Huddle House in Calhoun, was recently recognized for earning the prestigious “Best of the Best Regional” award at the chain’s recent annual convention in Destin, Florida.

During the convention, Huddle House CEO Michael Abt called special attention to star storeowners who achieved record sales and whose teams performed exceptionally in operations, cleanliness and quality service. Marcus received recognition on behalf of the Calhoun restaurant, which has been the neighborhood’s go-to gathering place for nostalgic comfort food and authentic Southern hospitality since 1977.

“What an honor it is to receive this recognition from a great brand like Huddle House,” said Marcus. “I applaud Brandon McHenry, the general manager, for putting together such an outstanding team. Our guests truly are fantastic to serve everyday, and I am excited to see what the future holds for the Calhoun Huddle House.”

As a result of Marcus’ leadership and “Best of the Best” status, he was rewarded with $1,000 – a celebratory prize in recognition of his individual and team achievements.

“Duke and his team truly earned this award, and we’re honored to recognize their accomplishments,” said Abt. “Our franchisees are Huddle House’s bread and butter, and Duke is one of the best.”
